Ilijan–Tayabas 500 kV line — unexplained conductor severing

What happened
The Ilijan–Tayabas 500 kV line tripped after a conductor between Towers 129 and 130 in Barangay Haligue Silangan was found severed. It followed the Dasmariñas–Ilijan line trip earlier that morning. NGCP said the physical condition warranted a police investigation and that sabotage could not be ruled out, but the root cause remained under investigation. The two line trips contributed to Luzon and Visayas grid alerts and rotating outages, though NGCP stressed that numerous generating plants were also unavailable. The reviewed evidence does not support assigning the roughly 1,700 MW figure to this severed line; the marker is approximate.
