Yemen's internationally recognised government said six Houthi ballistic missiles struck the government-held port of al-Makha on 14 August, killing at least four people and setting fire to the facility, according to Al Jazeera. The Associated Press independently corroborated that Houthi missiles targeted the port's infrastructure and that a fire broke out, but AP could not independently verify the casualty toll; a government military spokesman initially could not say whether anyone had been killed or wounded. The port strike formed part of a wider round of attacks reported the same day. Al Arabiya, as relayed by TASS, said government forces intercepted 15 of 44 drones, while a separate attempt to strike an oil tanker in the Bab al-Mandeb strait involved six mined boats, three of which were intercepted. The reported death toll in this record therefore remains attributed to Yemen's government rather than independently confirmed.
