What happened
Mumbai suffered a major grid collapse after multiple transmission elements tripped, interrupting electricity across the metropolitan area and disrupting trains, hospitals and commerce. Later reporting connected Chinese-linked RedEcho intrusions in Indian power-sector networks to the period of the outage. However, India's Ministry of Power stated in Parliament that investigators had found no conclusive evidence attributing the 12 October grid event to a cyberattack. The database therefore records the outage as an operational failure and preserves the cyber allegation only as disputed context.
