Pakokku 132 kV transmission tower — reported bombing

19 July 2026 · Approximately 19:30 local time

Pakokku Township, Magway Region, Myanmar (approximate location)

What happened

Myanmar's military-controlled Ministry of Information said explosives damaged Tower 338 of a 132 kV main transmission line near Paunglaung Lake Village. The ministry reported outages in four townships and degraded supply elsewhere in Magway Region. It blamed People's Defence Forces, but that attribution was not independently verified in the reviewed material. Because the physical event is presently supported chiefly by a belligerent government source, this record remains reported and its location is approximate.

When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
