What happened
Ukraine released footage of a sea drone approaching and apparently striking the aft section of the Liberia-flagged tanker Bourda while the Greek-owned vessel was reportedly sailing toward Russia's Taman port. TradeWinds identified the ship as the 105,600-dwt, IMS SA-owned tanker built in 2006. The incident is notable because the vessel was Greek-owned and Liberian-flagged rather than a conventionally Russian-owned tanker, although Ukrainian authorities had listed it for involvement in Russian petroleum trade. The reviewed reporting did not establish the vessel's cargo or load condition, precise strike position, casualty count, pollution, full damage assessment or subsequent voyage. No reliable source reviewed confirmed that Bourda sank.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy published footage of the strike, and maritime reporting identified the vessel in the footage as Bourda. The extent of damage was not independently established.
