What happened

The Marshall Islands-flagged tanker was struck by a suspected Iranian uncrewed surface vessel, triggering a fire and explosion in the main engine room and killing one Indian crew member. The hull was breached above the waterline; the vessel remained afloat and drifting. The 21 remaining crew were evacuated by the commercial vessel MV Sand.
