What happened
The US-flagged tanker, part of the US Maritime Administration's Tanker Security Program, was struck by two missiles around 2 a.m. local time while in dry dock for planned maintenance at a Bahrain shipyard. The crew evacuated safely; one shipyard worker was killed and two others were seriously injured. A fire caused by the strikes was quickly extinguished. In February 2026 the same vessel had been harassed by IRGC fast boats while transiting the Strait of Hormuz under US Navy escort.
