What happened

Severstal said drones attacked its Yakovlevsky mining and processing complex in Belgorod Oblast on 7 October at 18:20, damaging an electrical substation. Interfax and local outlet Fonar reported that all underground personnel were brought safely to the surface and no injuries were reported. Severstal attributed the attack to Ukrainian drones in reporting carried by URA; independent attribution has not been established here. The extent of electrical damage, supply interruption and effect on ore production were not disclosed. Bringing workers to the surface does not establish a hoist failure or a prolonged mine shutdown. The marker represents Belgorod Oblast and is not the mine or substation impact coordinate.
