Zaporizhzhia — city power outage during combined Russian strike

What happened

Russian forces launched a combined overnight strike on Zaporizhzhia using ballistic missiles and guided aerial bombs, causing fires and leaving part of the city without electricity. Zaporizhzhia regional head Ivan Fedorov reported six people killed and 19 injured as of 07:00, with residential buildings and other infrastructure damaged. Associated Press subsequently reported that the attack also involved Zircon missiles, Iskander ballistic missiles and long-range drones, and that one strike hit the grounds of a children's hospital. Neither source identified a substation, generating plant, transmission line or other energy facility as a direct target, nor published the number of disconnected customers, damage to grid equipment or a restoration timeline.
