What happened
Explosive-laden drones repeatedly struck the Zawiya oil complex over four days. An 8 August strike punctured an untreated-naphtha tank and caused a contained leak; a 10 August strike ignited a tank holding about 4.5 million litres of gasoline, which collapsed after a fire lasting more than 15 hours, while another drone landed near the oil-blending and packaging plant's main tank and process pipelines without reported damage. Two further strikes on 11 August breached diesel tanks 2/4 and 4/4 and started fires that emergency teams contained. The refinery shut temporarily during the attacks and later resumed operations; fuel distribution was reported unaffected, all fires were extinguished by late 11 August and no casualties were reported. NOC declared maximum emergency and warned that continued attacks could force a complete halt and force majeure. No group claimed responsibility, and this record does not adopt speculative claims about the drones' origin or operator.
