Planet Labs imagery from 27 July analyzed by the Associated Press showed new damage at Saudi Aramco's Abqaiq crude-oil processing facility during a regional drone campaign. Saudi Arabia said its air defenses intercepted drones launched from Iraq toward petroleum facilities in the Eastern Province and Riyadh, while separate online accounts reported smoke or fire at Abqaiq. The public Saudi statement did not name Abqaiq, and the reviewed reporting did not establish which drone or actor caused the visible damage, quantify the affected equipment, or document a production halt.
