What happened
The double-bottomed tanker Agia Zoni II sank at anchorage west of Piraeus while carrying about 2,200 tonnes of fuel oil and 370 tonnes of marine gas oil. Escaping oil polluted the east coast of Salamina Island. Greek authorities requested an EMSA-contracted recovery vessel and satellite monitoring while crews recovered oil leaking from the wreck. The amount actually released was not established in the cited notice.
