What happened

Ukraine's Security Service said at least eight of its long-range drones struck the Cherkasy linear production and dispatch station (LPDS) in Bashkortostan overnight on 8 July, causing fires near the tank farm and the station's production facilities. The site is roughly 1,500 kilometres from Ukraine's border and is described as a key Transneft-Ural node receiving, accumulating, storing and pumping light petroleum products from the Ufa refining hub into trunk product pipelines. According to the SBU, it handles almost 2 million tonnes of petroleum products annually and has 27 tanks with combined capacity above 385,000 cubic metres. AeroTime reported explosions and a large smoke plume in the Ufa industrial area and cited NASA FIRMS active-fire detections consistent with fires there. However, Transneft, the station operator and Russian authorities had not confirmed the facility damage, a shutdown or a throughput reduction in the reviewed sources. The record is therefore marked reported, and its marker is placed approximately near Novye Cherkassy rather than presented as a verified facility coordinate.
