Crevedia LPG station — fire and explosions

26 August 2023

Crevedia, Dâmbovița County, Romania

What happened

A fire and multiple explosions struck a nominally closed LPG station in Crevedia, Dâmbovița County, during unauthorised LPG-transfer activity between tankers. Two people ultimately died and 58 were injured, many of them firefighters; authorities evacuated an area 700–750 meters around the site. Romania's interior ministry treated this as an illegal-operation/industrial-accident case, not an attack.
