What happened
The 1949-vintage Gulf South 266 Loop natural-gas transmission pipeline ruptured near Choudrant and released gas. No injuries or deaths were reported. PHMSA inspectors found that the rupture originated in the pipe's longitudinal seam; metallurgical testing and the wider investigation remained under way. The operator isolated about 17 miles, and PHMSA prohibited restart until an approved plan and corrective work were completed.
