What happened

Zhytomyr governor Vitalii Bunechko reported repeated Russian strikes on railway and energy infrastructure in Korosten district overnight into 12 October. Emergency services reported extinguishing fires and withdrawing during renewed threats. No casualties had been reported at the time of the statement. Ukrainian Railways reported 38 long-distance trains delayed nationwide at 10:20 that morning; this is a network status count, not 38 delays conclusively assigned to Korosten. Individual energy facilities, equipment damage and power losses were not identified. This grouped district marker is approximate, not a verified impact coordinate.
