What happened
RCMP said an ATCO electricity substation was deliberately shot and a bullet punctured an oil tank. The damage released about 20,000 litres of oil and interrupted power to more than 8,400 customers for almost five hours. Preliminary infrastructure and environmental-cleanup costs were estimated at about C$1.1 million.
