What happened

Yemen's Houthis said they targeted crude-oil supply and transport sites linking eastern Saudi Arabia to the Red Sea export hub of Yanbu, including Petroline, the 1,200km pipeline carrying crude from the kingdom's eastern fields — marking the first time the group has targeted oil infrastructure in eastern Saudi Arabia since 2019. With Strait of Hormuz disruptions pushing Saudi Arabia to move up to 5 million barrels a day through this route (up from about 1 million previously), Saudi authorities said they reserve the right to respond but had not released the extent of any damage at the time reported.
