What happened

Ukrainian monitoring channel Supernova+ reported that drones targeted Russia's Plesetsk military cosmodrome in Arkhangelsk Oblast. ASTRA geolocated eyewitness imagery showing smoke rising in the cosmodrome area and a drone travelling north from Kargopol toward Plesetsk. Russian regional and Mirny authorities acknowledged an attack on Arkhangelsk Oblast and said it had been repelled, but did not confirm an impact within the cosmodrome or publish a damage assessment. Roscosmos and Russia's Defence Ministry reported that a Soyuz-2.1b rocket successfully launched a military spacecraft from Plesetsk the following morning, establishing that the reported raid did not prevent that mission. Plesetsk launches spacecraft for Russia's military and for the Rassvet satellite communications network.
