What happened
Poltava Oblast Governor Vitalii Diakyvnych said a Russian drone struck an energy infrastructure facility on 4 October, leaving approximately 22,000 customers without electricity. Poltavaoblenergo repair crews were working to restore supply and no casualties were reported in the initial assessment. Authorities did not identify the facility, district, damaged equipment, strike time or expected restoration time. The marker therefore represents Poltava Oblast and is not a claimed impact coordinate. This is separate from the 2 October strike on an unidentified energy facility in Lubny district that disconnected about 6,000 customers.
When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
