What happened

Ukraine’s Security Service told RFE/RL that drones struck the Russian-flagged cargo vessels Port Olya 2 (IMO 9481881) and Begey (IMO 8943210). Ukraine’s military-intelligence vessel database lists both as involved in transporting military cargo from Iran to Russia. Those designations and the strike account are Ukrainian government claims: no independently verified imagery, damage assessment, crew or cargo details, or precise strike coordinates were available in the reviewed reporting, and Russian authorities had not commented. This grouped marker is approximate and does not imply that the vessels were together.

When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
