What happened

Two drones that entered Latvian airspace from the direction of Russia struck an oil storage facility at Rēzekne, about 40 km from the Russian border, damaging four tanks and starting a fire that firefighters brought under control quickly. State Police examination of the wreckage established that two drones had hit the site, revising an initial account of one. The tanks were empty and no casualties were reported. Latvia's defence minister said the drones were most likely Ukrainian ones aimed at Russian targets that had strayed; he resigned days later following a further incursion.
