What happened

A construction accident struck an underground natural-gas main near the Miles Road overpass, producing an active leak. Solon and Orange Village authorities issued a temporary shelter-in-place order, closed Miles Road and both directions of US 422, and kept emergency crews on scene until the line was isolated. The highway reopened later that evening. No fire, injuries or widespread customer outage were reported.
