Tobago water-supply wells — coordinated cable theft and vandalism
27 March 2026
Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago (four facilities; marker approximate)
What happened
Electrical cables and equipment were cut or stolen at Arnos Vale Well #4, Bacolet Well #3, Claude Noel Highway Well and the Bloody Bay well-and-tank facilities. WASA said the deliberate vandalism disrupted pipe-borne water supply across multiple communities. Three wells were repaired by 29 March, and authorities reported full operating capacity by 31 March. Nine people, including a WASA employee, were arrested while police continued their investigation. No dependable primary-source figure for the total production loss was found, so none is assigned. The marker represents the dispersed facilities and is approximate.
