What happened

UKMTO later reclassified the incident as an attack after the company security officer confirmed that an unknown projectile had struck the vessel. The crew safely abandoned it and were recovered by a tug. At the latest cited update, the fire was not extinguished, the vessel was adrift, and no environmental impact was reported.
