UK Maritime Trade Operations said the Middle East maritime threat level remained severe as attacks and harassment of commercial shipping persisted in the Strait of Hormuz. The agency described IRGC-linked activity including VHF hailing, UAV overflight and targeted surveillance of merchant vessels, and said kinetic activity—including projectile strikes and near-miss explosions—continued along the southern Omani approaches around Limah, Khasab and Kumzar. UKMTO also warned of a continuing risk from drifting and uncharted mines. Commercial traffic through the strait remained at reduced levels, with transits in the single digits.
