LOL crude pipeline, Gulf of Coro — pipeline spills

25–26 March 2026

Carirubana and Miranda municipalities, Falcón, Venezuela

What happened

PDVSA deployed containment teams to two separate leaks from the LOL crude pipeline near its Cardón refinery: the first on 25 March in Carirubana municipality near Punta Cardón, the second on 26 March in Miranda municipality across the Gulf of Coro, after local fishermen reported oil in the water. Pipeline pumping was halted while containment teams responded; the scale of the spills was unclear and PDVSA did not respond to requests for comment. This is a pipeline/terminal incident, not an attack.
