What happened
Yemen's Transport Ministry said at least two ballistic missiles and several explosive-laden drones targeted Aden International Airport early on 7 October. The ministry said one missile landed close to the runway minutes before a Yemenia flight from Cairo was due to arrive, prompting its diversion to Jeddah; two aircraft already at the airport were moved because of the risk of further attacks. Aden security authorities reported no casualties. The government said the runway and passenger terminal were targeted, but the reviewed reporting did not establish the exact impact point of every weapon, the extent of physical damage, how many weapons were intercepted or whether normal operations had fully resumed. Government and security authorities attributed the attack to the Houthis; the Houthis had not immediately commented in the initial Reuters account. The marker identifies the airport and should not be read as a precise missile-impact coordinate.
