A Ukrainian drone attack caused a fire at the Afipsky oil refinery overnight, Krasnodar governor Veniamin Kondratyev said. Falling drone debris also struck the nearby Afipskaya railway station, where two people were killed and two injured, suspended station operations, and damaged at least ten homes; those casualties were reported at the railway station rather than inside the refinery. Reuters described Afipsky as an export-oriented refinery that processed about 7.2 million tonnes, or 144,000 barrels per day, in 2024 and has been targeted repeatedly. Ukraine's General Staff subsequently reported that the strike damaged an ELOU-AT processing unit, a gas-fractionation unit and a pipeline section. No refinery shutdown or quantified throughput loss had been independently confirmed, and the fire is no longer marked active because the initial live-response description is stale without a later status report.
