Al Taweelah industrial site — attack and emergency shutdown

What happened

Emirates Global Aluminum said Iranian missile and drone attacks caused significant damage at its Al Taweelah site in Khalifa Economic Zone Abu Dhabi. The entire site was evacuated and all listed facilities—including the captive power plant and alumina refinery—entered emergency shutdown. EGA said some alumina-refinery and recycling production might restart earlier, while complete restoration of primary aluminum production could take up to 12 months. The 100% figure describes the confirmed initial site-wide shutdown, not permanent capacity loss. The marker is placed at the Al Taweelah complex.
