Water-network repair crew fired on, Bint Jbeil

7 August 2026 · Reported 15:10 GMT

Bint Jbeil, southern Lebanon

What happened

Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli forces fired on a team of water-utility workers as they repaired the local water network in Bint Jbeil, southern Lebanon. This is a water-infrastructure incident rather than a strict oil, gas or power-grid case, and is included here as an adjacent case given the same electricity network in this area (see the nearby Sultaniyah substation and southern Lebanon transmission-grid records) has repeatedly been struck; treat the infrastructure category as approximate. NNA separately reported Israeli artillery fire on the outskirts of Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, toward Mayfadoun, and an explosion near a mosque in Zawtar al-Sharqiyah around the same time; neither of those two reports is independently detailed enough to plot separately and no casualties were specified for any of the three reports.
