What happened

LNG escaped from an opened low-pressure export header while workers were conducting hot work on the second-phase expansion project and the resulting vapor cloud ignited. Seven people were killed and two seriously injured. China’s Ministry of Emergency Management attributed the release to an isolation valve being left open and recorded direct economic losses of approximately 20.29 million yuan.
