Berri Gas Plant, Jubail — reported fire

9 August 2026 · Time not stated (GMT / UTC+0)

Al Jubail, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia

What happened

Open-source accounts and satellite fire-monitoring data reported a large fire at Saudi Aramco's Berri Gas Plant near Jubail on the same night as the confirmed Jazan refinery fire. NASA FIRMS satellite data cited in social-media and secondary reporting showed a cluster of high-intensity thermal anomalies at the site, with estimated fire radiative power around 125–126 MW. Some accounts attributed the fire to a Houthi attack, but Saudi authorities did not confirm the cause, and the Ministry of Energy's public statement addressed only the separate Jazan fire. No official Saudi Aramco or government statement, independent damage assessment, casualty figures or production-impact data were found for Berri specifically, and the reviewed reporting relied on satellite hotspot data and social-media accounts rather than a named wire-service confirmation. This record is marked unconfirmed accordingly and should be read as a reported thermal anomaly, not a verified attack.
