What happened

Khor Mor, Iraq's largest non-associated gas field, is operated by the Pearl Petroleum consortium: Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum each hold a 35% stake as joint operators, with Austria's OMV, Hungary's MOL and Germany's RWE each holding 10%. Its gas supplies power stations that generate most of the Kurdistan Region's electricity, making disruptions unusually consequential. The field has faced repeated attacks since 2022. Separate dated records below distinguish the 25 January 2024 drone strike on a liquid-storage tank, the fatal 26 April 2024 drone strike on a condensate tank, the 2 February 2025 drone incident that caused no production impact, and the 26 November 2025 rocket strike that destroyed a liquid-storage tank and associated equipment. A July 2026 security-related shutdown is not presented here as a confirmed tank strike.
