GPIC petrochemical complex — Iranian drone-attack fires

5 April 2026 · Early morning

Sitra, Bahrain (approximate location)

What happened

Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company said Iranian drones struck several operational units at its Bahrain complex and started fires. Emergency teams and civil defence extinguished the fires, no casualties were reported, and damage-assessment teams were deployed. The initial company-backed reporting did not quantify damage, identify the individual ammonia, urea or methanol units affected, or state the duration and share of any production shutdown, so none is inferred. The marker is approximate.
