TotalEnergies ended crude oil refining at its 101,000 bbl/d Grandpuits refinery near Melun in the first quarter of 2021, investing over €500 million to convert the site into a zero-crude platform producing renewable diesel, sustainable aviation fuel, bioplastics and solar power under "Project Galaxie." Nearby Paris-region fuel supply was unaffected, served instead by Total's Donges and Normandy refineries. This was a voluntary commercial closure, not an incident or attack.
