What happened

German authorities investigated multiple unidentified drones of different sizes reported over critical infrastructure in Schleswig-Holstein. Sightings included a coordinated formation over Kiel's university hospital and gas-fired coastal power plant, two small drones over the TKMS naval shipyard, and further drones over government buildings, the Kiel Canal and the Heide oil refinery at Hemmingstedt. German reporting described parallel flight paths consistent with surveying ground installations and referred to a combined formation or possible 'mother drone', but authorities did not publicly establish the aircrafts' operator, origin or mission. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt described some incidents as possible provocation and cautioned that a foreign-controlled drone was not automatically a threat. No fire, damage or operational interruption was reported at the refinery or power plant.
