What happened

Ukrainska Pravda, citing the independent Russian outlet ASTRA and monitoring channel Exilenova+, reported that drones attacked the Ilsky oil refinery around midnight on 26 September and that a fire broke out on the site. Residents reported explosions and air-defence activity in the wider Krasnodar area, while photographs and video circulated as purported evidence of the refinery fire. Ukraine's General Staff subsequently said its forces struck the refinery overnight and that a fire resulted. No Russian authority or refinery operator had confirmed the strike in the reviewed reporting, and no independently verified damage assessment or operating-status update was available. The entry is therefore recorded as a reported Ukrainian claim and remains separate from the refinery's documented July and August 2026 attacks.
