Copernicus satellite imagery reviewed by maritime-intelligence analysts showed an apparent oil slick spreading from the western side of Kharg Island, Iran's main crude-export terminal. Windward estimated a footprint of roughly 71 square kilometers and an oil-equivalent volume around 80,000 barrels, but those are remote-sensing estimates rather than a measured release. Iran said the pollution did not originate from its infrastructure, and available evidence did not establish whether the source was a terminal malfunction, vessel discharge, conflict damage or another cause. No attack attribution or production shutdown is inferred.
