What happened
Russia's Defence Ministry said Russian drones struck the Kochetok electrical substation in Kharkiv Oblast during attacks on the evening of 4 October and overnight into 5 October. Ukrenergo separately confirmed fresh attack-related outages in Kharkiv Oblast that morning but did not name Kochetok or connect the outages to this facility. No Ukrainian operator statement, geolocated damage imagery, equipment assessment, casualty report or restoration timetable was identified in the reviewed reporting. The Russian claim is therefore recorded as reported and attributed rather than independently confirmed. The marker identifies the Kochetok locality and is not a verified substation coordinate.
When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
