Marine Honour and Vox Maxima — Pasir Panjang oil spill
14 June 2024 · 14:18 local time
Pasir Panjang Terminal, Singapore
What happened
The dredger Vox Maxima lost electrical power, propulsion-pitch control and steering, then struck the stationary bunker tanker Marine Honour at about 8.3 knots. The collision ruptured a cargo tank and suddenly released an estimated 400 tonnes of fuel oil, causing severe marine pollution along Singapore's southern shorelines and islands. No injuries were reported and port navigation and berthing remained open. Singapore's Transport Safety Investigation Bureau later published a final report.
