Niger–Benin export pipeline — explosive sabotage
16–17 June 2024
Tesker Department, Niger
What happened
An explosive attack damaged a section of the China-backed Niger–Benin crude export pipeline in Tesker department. Nigerien authorities confirmed sabotage after the FPL claimed it had disabled the section. Crude exports were already entangled in a separate Niger–Benin political suspension, so the attack's independent production impact was not established.
