What happened

A fire broke out in the catalyst-building pumping area of the Polyethylene Swing Unit at IndianOil’s Panipat Naphtha Cracker. One contract worker died at the site and an IndianOil employee later died from injuries; three other employees were injured. Emergency crews quickly controlled the fire, the swing unit was temporarily shut down, and other cracker and refinery units continued operating.
