What happened

A localized explosion occurred in an industrial pipe-inspection channel at the Petrotel-Lukoil refinery while the plant was undergoing scheduled overhaul work. Prahova police said gases had accumulated after waste leaked into the channel; the blast threw a concrete access cover, striking and injuring a contractor performing repairs. The worker was conscious and stable when taken to hospital with head, facial and leg injuries.
