What happened

President Zelenskyy reported a Russian attack on a combined heat-and-power plant in the Pisochyn community on the evening of 11 October. Gwara Media, citing regional prosecutors and the governor, reported a missile impact in a nearby residential area that killed three people and injured 28, including children. Those are residential-area casualties and must not be assigned to the power plant. The reviewed account does not establish the plant’s precise identity, equipment damage, generating capacity lost or restoration timetable. The marker represents the community rather than a verified plant or impact coordinate. A 12 October Kyiv Independent report identifies the plant as Kharkiv CHP-5, citing the Ukrainian president. This is an attributed identification; the community marker remains approximate and no equipment-loss or capacity estimate is added.

When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
