What happened
DTEK said Russian forces launched several waves of attacks against one of its thermal power plants on 8 September, severely damaging equipment and forcing the facility to stop generating electricity. The company withheld the plant's identity and location for operational security and reported no casualties. Contemporary regional reporting linked power cuts in parts of Mykolaiv region, including Mykolaiv city, to an attack on energy infrastructure, but the reviewed sources do not establish that the unnamed DTEK plant caused those outages. This is a separate September event from the unnamed DTEK thermal plant struck and halted on 18 August.
When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
