What happened

Houthi military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree claimed that the group used ballistic and cruise missiles and drones in an operation targeting the oil refinery at Rabigh. The same statement named King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Abha airport, military facilities at Khamis Mushait and other unspecified sites in Najran and Jizan. Saree also claimed that the Riyadh operation disrupted air traffic and that the Rabigh operation caused a fire. Residents reportedly heard explosions in northern Riyadh and flight-tracking data showed substantial disruption at King Khalid International Airport, but neither observation establishes that the airport was struck; explosions may also accompany interceptions, and regional airline disruption was already elevated. Separately, videos circulated online purporting to show a storage-tank fire at the Rabigh complex, but their location and timing had not been independently authenticated. Associated Press reported the target claims but did not independently verify a strike at Rabigh. Saudi Arabia and the refinery operator had not publicly confirmed an impact, interception, fire, damage, casualties, pollution or operational interruption in the reviewed reporting, and the Houthi statement supplied no incident time. This record therefore preserves a newly named energy target and associated observations as an unconfirmed attributed claim rather than presenting the refinery or airport as successfully struck. The marker identifies the refinery area and is not a verified impact coordinate.
