Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat — long-range drone strike

9 May 2024

Salavat, Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia

What happened

A long-range drone struck the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat refining and petrochemical complex in Bashkortostan, about 1,300km from Ukrainian-controlled territory. Regional governor Radiy Khabirov confirmed damage and a fire at the site; Ukraine's Security Service claimed the operation. Contemporary reporting placed the fire near a catalytic-cracking installation, but did not establish a sustained refinery-wide production halt or casualties.
