What happened

The Malaysia-registered tanker Silver Sincere reported taking on water and sank in Singapore territorial waters near Horsburgh Lighthouse. Its master evacuated all eight crew, who were rescued safely from liferafts in healthy condition. MPA activated salvage tugs and precautionary oil-spill response craft; navigation through the Singapore Strait was unaffected. The public notice did not report a confirmed pollution release.
