Syzran refinery — renewed drone strike

Overnight 3–4 August 2026

Russia

What happened

A large fire broke out at the Syzran refinery in Russia's Samara region after a reported Ukrainian drone strike, part of a wider overnight wave that also reportedly hit Wildberries logistics warehouses near Moscow and St Petersburg. Local residents reported explosions before smoke was seen rising from the refinery. The weapon used, extent of damage and any casualties were not established in the cited reporting at the time of this entry; The Kyiv Independent noted it could not independently verify the reports and that Ukraine had not commented. This is a separate, later incident from the 12 July 2026 attack recorded in the adjacent Syzran refinery entry, which this facility has been struck by repeatedly through 2025–2026.
